Let the Bad Times Roll

The Left’s primal scream on Inauguration Day is no distant echo, but endlessly repeated.

June 21, 2019   By Hugh Gurdon,  The Washington Examiner

The 2020 presidential election is in high gear; some 16 months before voters cast their ballots, the campaign already promises to be intense and bitter to a degree perhaps unprecedented. A measure of this is that President Trump’s supporters began lining up to get into his campaign launch rally in Tampa, Fla., 40 hours before it was scheduled to begin. They camped out on the streets during a monsoon! There were more than 100,000 applications for seats in an auditorium with a maximum capacity of 20,000. People drove from as far away as Boston to be there. Intense! But intensity of support is matched by fervor of opposition.  More…

Black intellectuals surprise Democrats by telling them who owes the tab on reparations

Another lefty narrative blown to smithereens!

June 21, 2019   By Monica Showalter

House Democrats thought they had an easy issue for rallying the black vote: bringing up reparations for slavery as an election issue and holding congressional hearings. What better way to rally coveted black voters than to hold out a big pile of reparations money along with lot of talk about victimization derived from evils committed in the past? It didn’t work out the way they thought it would.   More…

Liberals’ National Popular Vote Scheme is Dangerous & Unconstitutional

June 21, 2019  By Brian Messenger, The American Thinker

As of now, fourteen states have passed the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact (NPVIC), which attempts to eliminate the Electoral College as set forth in the United States Constitution.  There have been many good articles written about the legality of interstate compacts to achieve the desired National Popular Vote goals.  The author does not need to rehash all of those problems but believes that there are three additional ways that the NPVIC is both unconstitutional and dangerous:

Constitutional Flaw #1: Non-Republican Form of Government Article IV, Section 4 of the United States Constitution says in part that  “[t]he United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government.”   More…

Trump Just Revolutionized Health Care — And Nobody Noticed

June 19, 2019   From Issues & Insights

Few have ever heard of “Health Reimbursement Accounts,” but they could fundamentally change the nation’s health care system — for the better — and destroy the Democrats’ case for socialized health care. Late last week, the Trump administration finalized rules that will let companies put money into tax-exempt HRAs that their employees could then used to buy an individual insurance plan on their own. Seems like no big deal, right? Except it will start to unravel a 77-year-old policy mistake that is largely responsible for many of the problems the health care system suffers today.  More…

Multiculturalism Is a Nation Killer

June 19, 2019   By Abraham Miller, The American Spectator

Politics is about power, how to get it and how to keep it. Politics is about mobilizing votes. It should come as no surprise that candidates can say one thing on one day and another on another day because they will say whatever needs to be said to appeal to the electorate. Joe Biden instantaneously flip flops on abortion. Barack Obama and Bill Clinton were as much against illegal immigration as is Donald Trump. Hillary Clinton was once against gay marriage. In totalitarian societies, the truth is what the dictator says at any given moment. In democratic societies, the truth is what the mass public wants to hear at any given moment. More…
