22-Year-old Vaper Hospitalized With Coronavirus

Vapers, beware: New York Mayor Bill de Blasio this week noted that an otherwise healthy 22-year-old man is among New York’s coronavirus cases.

“Why is a 22-year-old man stable but hospitalized at this point?” de Blasio asked at a Monday news conference. “So, we don’t know of any pre-existing conditions, but we do think the fact that he is a vaper is affecting this situation.”

According to the CDC, the groups most susceptible to the virus are the elderly and people with underlying health conditions, such as heart disease, diabetes, and respiratory problems. More…

Gov. Brown takes climate legislation into her own hands

SALEM — Gov. Kate Brown is preparing an executive order to cut the state’s climate impacts on her own authority, after a second failure to get legislators to approve such a plan.

The governor’s office “is having conversations with the Department of Justice to ensure the governor acts as aggressively as she can within Oregon statutes, and the executive order will reflect that,” a spokeswoman for Brown said in an email on Friday. More…
