Oregon House Republicans join Senate Republicans in Capitol walkout over climate bill

Democrats and one Republican showed up for an Oregon Senate floor session Tuesday February 25, one short of the 20 members necessary for a quorum. Without a quorum, lawmakers were unable to conduct business during the second day of Senate Republicans’ walkout.

Members of Oregon’s Republican House caucus are boycotting Legislative action on Tuesday, joining their Senate counterparts who walked out Monday morning to stop progress on a controversial climate bill.

Both the House and Senate adjourned for the day shortly after 11 a.m. when it became official that absent Republicans had made it impossible to move forward on bills. More…

( — The conservative Family Research Council (FRC) is urging parents across the country to keep their kids home on Thursday, Feb. 27, a day that pro-LGBT activists and teachers will use to read pro-transgender books to children in some schools and libraries, a practice they want to establish as an annual event.

“Do you want your child to be psychologically manipulated at school on Thursday? Might be a good day for a Mommy Date at the museum!” said the FRC’s Cathy Ruse in a post on the group’s website.  More…
